The Housing Advisers Programme is designed to help local authorities overcome housing challenges in their areas by covering the cost of bringing in independent experts.

The Local Government Association (LGA) scheme to pay for housing advisors to help councils build more, reduce homelessness, or speed up planning opened for bids on 15th May.

Councils can bid for up to £14,000 to seek assistance from consultants for a housing project. A small number of large projects will be able to access up to £28,000.
