The Homes and Communities Agency has earmarked 18 schemes with plans to deliver 1,300 new homes as the first group to benefit from the £420 million Get Britain Building programme.
Subject to due diligence and contracting, up to £46m could be allocated to the 18 projects through the programme.
Get Britain Building is part of the coalition government’s housing strategy and aims to support stalled developments get off the ground through loans on commercial rates, or taking equity stakes to share risk.
Bidding for the scheme opened on 22 December and closed on 30 January and a total of 170 expressions of interest submissions were received.
