Here are the award winners:
The inaugural Women in Housing Awards took place at the Hilton Hotel in Deansgate, Manchester, last week.
The awards celebrated the achievements of female housing professionals and were hosted by Diane Modahl, former Olympian and Commonwealth champion.
Karren Brady, football executive and government business advisor, was the guest speaker.
The winners of the awards were:
Best project/innovation: Re-unite South London – Housing for Women
Excellence in career development model: Construction Training Academy – Blackburne House
Best community training project to rebuild women’s lives: Female Focus – City South Manchester Housing Trust & Manchester Active Voices
Best marketer/communications: Carli Harper-Penman, director of communications and public affairs, Moat
Young achiever: Loveday Gimson, development partnerships officer at Peaks & Plains Housing Trust, and Victoria McDowell, employment and skills development manager at Wythenshawe Community Housing Group
Most effective woman board member: Sue Roberts, chair of Wolverhampton Homes
Leading female mentor: Sasha Deepwell, deputy chief executive of Wulvern Housing Association
Best housing professional : Pat Brandum, chief executive of WM Housing
Lifetime achievement award: Cora Carter, secretary of the Tenants’ and Residents’ Organisation of England and tenant representative at Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing
