Homes are being taken back into management by Bassetlaw District Council, in the Midlands,  despite just one in five tenants and leaseholders voting in favour of the proposal.

A1 Housing will be delivered directly by the local authority from 1 October.

The decision – expected to save £335,000 per year – comes following a consultation exercise held earlier this year.

Ipsos Mori sent questionnaires to 8,572 people but received just 2,458 responses, of which just 1,486 supported the proposal.

So different from Cobalt Housing – ask them what they did to engage tenants on demerger – they got a 90%+ yes vote and 60% turnout!
