A social landlord in Scotland has become the first in the UK to partner with the Post Office to run its own local branch, according to Inside Housing:
Scottish Borders Housing Association will bring postal, banking, and financial services back to the Selkirk community, after local residents called the landlord to action following the closure of the Station Road post office in October 2012.
The community responded to an SBHA survey, which showed that 92 per cent of residents and 100 per cent of local businesses were in favour of it setting up a post office.
This scheme marks the first new format branch outside of a retail environment for the Post Office and the first commercial venture for SBHA.
