Halton Borough Council is supporting families using Runcorn Foodbank by supplying 600 equipment packs to be given out to families suffering hardship or crisis.
Included in the packs are a linen bag, bowl, beaker, can opener, toothbrush and comb – donated by Halton Families Information Service
Officers also enclosed information to raise awareness of local childcare provision and the offer of 15 hours free childcare entitlement for eligible two to four year olds in Halton.
Since it started in November 2012 and with the help of 80 volunteers, the Foodbank has provided emergency food to more than 2,500 people, including more than 900 children.
