Magenta Living’s Handy Persons Service has just been accredited by the Business Approval Register (BAR) – a scheme which is monitored by Trading Standards to reinforce trust and transparency in business services.

Great stuff.

Membership involves undergoing stringent checks covering; financial history, the directors, business premises, professional memberships and Magenta Living’s standards for adhering to the Customer Charter and Code of Practice.

Having ‘Business Approval’ status highlights Magenta Living’s commitment to delivering excellence in customer service, while allowing anyone to check the validity of this service provision against this register.

This accreditation further re-enforces Magenta Living’s plan to roll out the Handy Persons Service to a wider audience, after a two year pilot period has proved very successful.

The Handy Persons Service was initially launched to provide a cost price DIY style service to leaseholders, supported housing and new tenants. Magenta Living’s Van That Can scheme runs alongside the Handy Persons Service which involves a multi-skilled tradesmen carrying out small remedial works that are not covered in a resident’s tenancy agreement.

In total 229 jobs have been completed, including; decorating, fitting extra plug sockets, hanging curtain poles, minor plumbing and electrical tasks, fixing outside taps, building flat pack furniture and laying pavement flags.

Geoff Muise, operational director for Magenta Living said: “This accreditation will aid our quest to expand our Handy Person Service which has been identified as a potential growth area. Meeting this key business objective will undoubtedly pave the way for further developments across other service areas.”

January marks the next phase for this popular service, which will be offered to Magenta Living’s general needs tenants, with a view to expanding this service to the wider Wirral public and other external organisations in the near future.
