A consortium of builders has called on the next government to provide stable, sustainable investment to the industry.
According to Inside Housing:
The National Federation of Builders (NFB) has launched its manifesto for the 2015 general election as the party conferences get under way.
Outlining the priorities of small and medium-sized house builders, it calls for ‘no rollback’ of planning reforms and an attempt to attract ‘patient capital’ into the market.
It also asks the next government to simplify public sector procurement to make it easier for small and medium-sized builders to win contracts.
‘The construction industry needs stable, sustainable investment to support industry growth,’ the manifesto says.
‘The federation is calling for the next government to make lending to small businesses easier while ensuring larger investors can work with the construction industry and the public sector to support longer-term projects.’
