Family Mosaic chief executive Brendan Sarsfield has officially started his new role as chair of the G15, an influential group of London social landlords.

Mr  Sarsfield replaced Affinity Sutton chief executive Keith Exford on Monday after his two-year tenure came to an end.

‘I just want to continue the good work done by Keith Exford and, beyond that, look to build our influence during the run up to the next general election,’ Mr Sarsfield said..

He added that the priority for his time at the helm of the organisation ‘has to be the supply of housing in London,’ while the issue of welfare reform and how it affects residents will also be an area of focus alongside ‘the very positive role’ social housing plays in the capital’s economy.

Circle chief executive Mark Rogers also started his role the new vice-chair of the G15 today, taking over the position from Mr Sarsfield.

The G15 is collectively building 13,000 homes under the affordable homes programme by 2015, using £350 million of grant and £2 billion of private finance.

It is a group of London’s largest housing associations, managing more than 400,000 homes across the capital.
