The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) has appointed a new chief executive with a background in housing delivery within local government.

Nick Walkley, who has been chief executive at Haringey Council for the past four years, will take over at the HCA nearly a year after the previous postholder, Andrew Rose, left the organisation. His start date has not been confirmed but is expected to be in March.

He was previously chief executive at Barnet Council. Under his leadership Haringey was the first council to set up a private sector lettings agency.
