Housing Minister Grant Shapps has announced plans to help tenants to hold their landlords to account.

Charities and benevolent societies are being invited to apply for funding from a national pot of £535,000, which is being made available for tenant panel training. The funding is intended to provide training for around 1,500 tenants, covering a range of topics including tenant scrutiny and dispute resolution. It is hoped that the training will also offer opportunities for interested tenants to work towards accredited qualifications that may lead to employment/career opportunities.
