This report is the culmination of the CIH major project to influence government direction in housing..
This included 200 workshops which more than 3,000 people who live and work in social housing took part in, public perceptions polling and a widespread evidence review.
On the back of that work our final report outlines a series of recommendations to the government and the sector to achieve the following six outcomes:
- Adopt a common definition and understanding of the role and purpose of social housing
- Ensure that tenants have a voice
- Increase the supply of genuinely affordable homes
- Ensure everyone can afford a place to cal home
- Make sure that existing homes and neighbourhoods are good quality and well-managed
- Challenge stigma and stereotyping.
