The NHF has alredy said that under the voluntary deal with the government, members will be required to design and publish details of local policies implementing the controversial discounted sales.

Under the proposed Right to Buy extension, association tenants living in a non-eligible home will be able to use a portable discount to buy an ‘alternative’ housing association property. HAs may now wish to start working on that Policy.

The Housing Minister has said to Inside Housing that the West Midlands is a strong contender for the £200m regional pilot of Right to Buy for HA tenants to run in 2017/18. The governmant has not yet announced which region this pilot will run in.

The roll out of RTB will be delayed for other locations whilst the pilot works out how it can support one for one replacement and postable discount.
