Thirteen Group is to consult tenants about conflating its group structure.
The 34,000-home group, which consists of five landlords operating in the north east of England, is proposing to simplify its structure into one organisation operating under a single board, in a move which it says would help it save £500,000 a year.
A spokesperson said: “A larger organisation would mean increased financial stability, more spending and bargaining power and financial savings which would fund new and relevant services to benefit customers, boost local communities, and make more improvements to homes and estates.”
It currently consists of Erimus Housing, Tees Valley Housing, Housing Hartlepool, Tristar Homes and Thirteen Care and Support.
Residents have until 13 October to give their feedback on the idea. If approved, the restructure will come into effect from next April.
