TSA are inviting comments on our proposals for future requirements on private registered providers of social housing to provide an annual return of statistical data. Registered providers will need to give the TSA this information in order to comply with their obligations under the Governance standard to provide an annual return. We are consulting on the data we will collect.  The first time this data will be collected will be in April 2012, based on registered provider’s social housing stock as at, and for the year to, 31st March 2012.

This consultation, 2012 Data Requirements for the Regulation of Private Registered Providers, includes a list of the questions the TSA propose to include in the annual return and sets out the context for our approach. These are a more focused suite of data fields than was previously collected and we expect this to significantly reduce the burden on providers. It also provides a steer for registered providers to allow them to start to prepare for data collection in 2012.

The consultation seeks feedback on the nature and content of the questions which we propose to ask, and asks for suggestions for regulatory data which might be missing. This is a 5-week consultation, and comments need to be submitted by midday on Friday 29 July 2011
