Regulation Committee
Julian Ashby’s tenure as chair of the Homes and Communities Agency’s (HCA’s) Regulation Committee has been extended for a further 18 months.
Julian has chaired the English social housing regulator since it took over regulation from the Tenant Services Authority in 2011, will continue in his role until March 2018. Mr Ashby, who last week wrote to associations over value for money concerns, had been due to stand down in September.
Chair
Sir Edward Lister, the former leader of Wandsworth Council, will appear before the Communities and Local Government Select Committee next week to be ratified.
Boris Johnson’s former chief of staff at City Hall is set to be appointed as the new chair of the Homes and Communities Agency. He also served as deputy mayor for planning under Mr Johnson at City Hall since 2011.
He replaces Robert Napier, who chaired the agency from its formation in 2008 and stepped down at the end of 2015.
