A former housing minister has called on the National Audit Office (NAO) to look into Right to Buy fraud, following an Inside Housing investigation.
John Healey wrote to the comptroller and auditor general at the NAO, blasting the government for a “woefully weak” response to concerns over widespread Right to Buy fraud.
In a joint investigation with BBC Radio 4 in June, Inside Housing revealed 16% of all council homes sold by 10 local authorities were to tenants in receipt of housing benefit since 2012.
