The government has announced a ban on letting agents charging fees in the private rented sector during tomorrow’s Autumn Statement.
Chancellor Philip Hammond announced the move to ban the fees.
Research by Shelter has found that one in seven renters pay more than £500 in fees. Campbell Robb, Shelter’s chief executive, has previously said the fees are “truly out of control”.
