Housing leaders and several local authority figures are among those recognised in this year’s New Year’s honours list.
- Bob Green, chief executive officer of Stonewall Housing services, has been awarded an OBE for services to LGBT communities.
- Keith Loraine, former chief executive of Isos Housing, has received an OBE for services to housing and the community in North East England.
- Tom Miskell, group chair of Accent Group and Northern Housing Consortium, has been awarded an OBE for services to housing associations in northern England.
- Ian Munro, group chief executive of New Charter Group, has received an OBE for services to housing.
- Professor Michael Williams has been awarded an OBE for services to health, housing and homeless people in Wales.
Among local authorities, honours included the awarding of CBEs to Kim Bromley-Derry, chief executive of the London Borough of Newham; Ravi Govindia, leader at Wandsworth Borough Council; and David Hodge, leader of Surrey County Council and vice chairman of the Local Government Association.
Sylvie Johnston, chief executive of homelessness charity Stonepillow, was awarded an MBE.
