The housing regulator and the ombudsman have opened talks about their joint working following political pressure over housing association complaints.
Gavin Barwell, housing minister, confirmed that the two organisations have met to discuss “the effectiveness of the interaction” between them.
“Both organisations recognise the importance of effective working relationships and are committed to sharing data where appropriate. I expect to be briefed on the outcome of these discussions shortly,” he added.
Mr Barwell was questioned by Rushanara Ali, the Labour MP for Bethnal Green and Bow, who raised the issue after repairs problems on the Old Ford Estate, run by Circle, in her constituency.
