As a proud supporting advisory group member, here is some information on the latest project from CfPS, who welcome your responses.
CfPS’s view is that the current accountability arrangements are not strong enough for the increasingly complex landscape of public service delivery. We are proposing that Local Public Accounts Committees (PACs) should be established which would help secure better value for money, reduce the dangers of democratic deficit, and overcome current barriers to proper scrutiny.
This discussion paper sets out the details of our proposal, why local PACs are needed, what they will deliver and how they could work. We are actively welcoming input and views on this model, please send comments to CfPS Director of Research, Ed Hammond by 23rd March 2018. You can also send us comments on twitter @CfPScrutiny #localPACs.
A summary version of our proposals can be found here.
