Two housing bodies have commissioned research into the impact of capital investment in affordable housing.

The National Housing Federation and g15, which represent London’s 15 largest housing associations, commissioned economic research consultancy Frontier Economics to review new and existing evidence to quantify the full social and economic impact of capital investment in affordable housing.

A joint release from NHF and g15 said: ‘We need new feasible funding models to respond to the changing economic and funding landscape, and alleviate the housing shortage. This work will present robust, targeted and persuasive funding proposals to central and local government.’

The final report will be published in April.
