Over 500 councils, community groups and charities raised the Commonwealth Flag today to mark the Commonwealth Day.
The event, which will be the largest, single flag raising in the history of the Commonwealth, will enable local people to affirm their support for values shared by the organisation’s 53 member countries.
Commonwealth Flags will also be flown at locations of special significance such as the UK’s four capital cities and the top of the four highest National Peaks.
