Anchor housing association has been fined £12,000 for failing to properly vet managers in three of its care homes.

According to Inside Housing:

The three managers at 30,000-home Anchor, which operates 96 care homes in England, had not undergone background checks by the Care Quality Commission while in post at Dawson Lodge in Southampton, Springfield Nursing Home in Bradford, and Prior Bank House in Sheffield.

Care home managers are required by law to be registered with the CQC and undergo disclosure and barring service checks, (which include criminal record checks), by the regulator.
