A small number of staff at the Homes and Communities Agency have voted in favour of a three-day strike following a dispute over pay.

Inside Housing reported today:

Members of the Unite union have opted to walk out on 25, 26 and 27 March from 7am until 5.30pm. More than two thirds, 68 per cent, of Unite members who took part in a ballot voted for industrial action. Unite said around 60 per cent of 110 members participated in the ballot, meaning around 40 elected for industrial action.

The HCA is understood to have offered staff a pay freeze and this was rejected by members three times.

Unite claims the pay offer includes discrepancies in pay between HCA and Tenant Services Authority contracts which are unfair and, Unite says, mean some staff are treated more favourably than others.

Staff on contracts that transferred from the TSA earn around 1 per cent less than other HCA staff,
