A 143,000-home social landlord has joined forces with Britain’s largest private house builder to deliver 2,000 homes through a joint venture.

Places for People and Barratt Homes announced the formation of the 50/50 partnership for a site in Milton Keynes today.

The joint venture relates to Brooklands, a 145-hectare Places for People development site adjacent to the M1. It has built 250 homes so far.

Barratt Homes will start construction of the remaining residential units in May, and will provide construction, development, accountancy and sales services.

Paradigm Housing Group will purchase the completed affordable homes which will consist of both rental and shared ownership.
